U.S. deal activity has finally returned to pre-recession levels and topped $1 trillion last year. Today’s active market, which has also seen a fair share of bidding wars, requires companies to move quickly or risk losing their ideal acquisition partner. However, not all companies are able to jump into a deal. This happens most frequently when a company has not spent enough time or resources developing a coherent growth strategy.
