Consumer spending comprises approximately two-thirds of the U.S. economy and continues to remain healthy. Consumer markets companies should see considerable growth and an increase in deal activity as companies pursue the most profitable customers and seek out new areas and products. However, despite the optimism, acquirers need to focus on the all-important elements of integration, due diligence and valuation in order to increase their chances of deal success and shareholder returns.
