EITF Reaches 2 Final Consensuses, 2 Consensuses-for-Exposure

This edition of Defining Issues reports that the FASB’s Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF) discussed four issues at its September 18, 2014, meeting and reached two final consensuses and two consensuses-for-exposure.

Final consensuses were reached on the following Issues.

·        Pushdown Accounting (Issue 12-F)

·        Determining Whether the Host Contract in a Hybrid Financial Instrument Issued in the Form of a Share Is More Akin to Debt or to Equity (Issue 13-G)

Consensuses-for-exposure were reached for the following Issues.

·        Effects on Historical Earnings per Unit of Master Limited Partnership Dropdown Transactions (Issue 14-A)

·        Fair Value Hierarchy Levels for Certain Investments Measured at Net Asset Value (14-B)
