From the Global Energy Institute
Recently, KPMG LLP (U.S.), in conjunction with Corporate Board Member and DLA Piper, sponsored a Power & Utilities Audit Committee Peer Forum. The forum, held at the New York Stock Exchange, provided audit committee members with an opportunity to share their views on critical issues facing power and utilities audit committees and boards today.
A range of issues were discussed, including the impact of shale gas on the industry, energy and tax policy, emerging technologies, regulatory issues for distributed power generation and issues surrounding aging infrastructure.
The panel also discussed risk and reporting issues, IT and cyber security, accounting issues facing the industry and general corporate governance concerns.
