Embracing Game Changers

Apr 05, 2017
From the Government Institute

Governments at all levels face daunting challenges that require new ways doing business. A game changer is an event, idea, or procedure that effects a significant shift in the current manner of doing or thinking about something.

This article, reproduced with the permission of the Association of Government Accountants, describes five game changers that can enable governments to address fiscal sustainability, restore public confidence in government, and move CFOs to the next level:

  1. Sharing and sharing alike
  2. Harnessing intelligent automation
  3. Turning data into insight
  4. Moving the ball on reporting
  5. Turning the corner on improper payments

All five game changers are achievable if there is willingness, followed by action, to change the status quo.
