From the Advisory Institute
An article from CIO Asia featuring KPMG's Denis Berry, Principal in KPMG’s CIO Advisory practice.
Locked in a race with rivals to attract new customers, companies are increasingly launching digital initiatives to expand or build digital capabilities aimed at making the business more efficient or improving top-line revenue growth.
The trend toward digitalization is only gaining steam, but the march toward a digital future is slow going. Data collected from the Harvey Nash / KPMG 2017 CIO survey results suggests companies’ digital efforts are progressing more like the tortoise than the hare, as only 18 percent consider their digital strategies “very effective.”
Denis Berry notes that while CIOs have enjoyed pockets of success for digital initiatives within their organizations they are struggling to get their transformation efforts embraced by those in the enterprise with other agendas or a general resistance to change.
