From the Advice Worth Keeping podcast series
Hosted by Stan Lepeak, Global Research Director,
KPMG LLP Management Consulting

Despite a still-recovering economy with significant unemployment, skill shortages in the workplace remain a primary concern within the C-suite.

Robert Bolton, a partner in KPMG's HR Center of Excellence, shares findings from a KPMG talent research study that shows talent management is no longer solely an HR department concern.

Getting better at talent management is a fundamental leadership challenge requiring a whole organization approach. In particular, talent management needs to broaden its focus from "high potentials," nine-box grids and the top tiers.

Listeners will gain an understanding of:

  • The 5C multidimensional model of talent management: cost, capacity, capability, compliance and connections
  • The critical role HR professionals play in talent management
  • Those industries that are experiencing skill shortages most acutely
  • How and why the current war on talent differs from earlier versions
