From emerging technologies to campus improvements, institutions are seeking innovative ways to overcome challenges. Historically, campuses have been centers for creative thinking and new ideas and as higher education institutions grow and become more complex, adopting innovation in their business operations will be essential to their continued success.
This report highlights the challenges voiced by the more than 100 administrators from public and private colleges and universities participating in KPMG’s annual industry outlook survey. To address their perennial and emerging challenges, institutions are leveraging innovation, including adapting technologies such as data and analytics, cloud, ERP, and cybersecurity to enhance their operations and business functions. In addition, schools are using innovative approaches to develop new revenue streams and financing methods for capital projects.
