Breakout Sessions: Select One

  • The Making of a Governance Star: Organizations struggle in recruiting, growing, and retaining the right talent in their services governance groups. With an undefined career path for most professionals in governance, the making of a governance star requires a special formula. Understand what is needed to make it in this new enterprise services governance world: the core skills, interview and evaluation processes, and possible career paths of successful governance professionals.
  • Why Location Matters: Generating Strategic Value for GBS: Being on the cutting edge of GBS is not just a question of how services are delivered, but where services are delivered. Identifying the next best location can generate a first-mover advantage that results in both financial and operational benefits. We will explore how to evaluate and identify optimal locations within the overall context of a GBS organization. We will consider a broad array of decision criteria, including the availability of talent, the overall risk profile of a given location, and the importance of government partnerships.
  • Leveraging Data to Drive Supplier Portfolio Insights: Today’s leading organizations are interested in leveraging supplier data to drive smart decision-making. This information is largely untapped by existing business intelligence systems, but organizations are beginning to recognize the value of extending the business intelligence and data warehousing environment to integrate, manage, govern, and analyze this information. Understand how to leverage data for predictive vendor portfolio management and effective services governance.

  2:00 - 2:45 pm

Global Process Governance
Most organizations operate through a defined structure of functions to drive efficiency in operations and specialization in work activities. The changing business landscape of advancing technology, globalization, and regulatory pressures is increasing the need to better integrate capabilities across these functions and quickly adapt to the changing environment. Process governance is the construct to define, measure, and manage enterprise processes throughout the organization. While many organizations are successfully on their way to realizing the benefits of global process governance, an increasing number are struggling to make the cultural and management shift from functions to processes. We will explore market trends in process governance, provide a practical framework, and introduce the starting point and tips to overcoming common challenges organization face in harnessing the value of process.
