Event Overview

KPMG LLP invites you to join our indirect tax professionals for a discussion on the developments of the proposed India Goods and Services Tax (GST) legislation.

GST is perhaps the biggest taxation reform to take place in India and is designed to integrate the large Indian marketplace and boost overall economic growth for the country.  The Indian government is actively working towards implementing the new legislation in the 2016 calendar year.  While the lower house of India’s parliament passed the Constitutional Amendment Bill (the Bill) in May 2015, the Bill did not pass in the upper house.  The debate has now moved to the budget session scheduled to start the last week of February 2016.

This webcast can help U.S. based companies with operations in India gain a better understanding of how the proposed changes could affect them.  The latest developments will be presented by Sachin Menon, COO-Tax and Head of Indirect Taxes with KPMG International’s member firm in India, and Roopal Bhargava, senior manager with KPMG LLP’s indirect tax practice in the United States.
