Event Overview

In many states, the 2017 legislative sessions have been dominated by difficult budget negotiations. As the legislative sessions wind down, lawmakers in some of these states are still debating whether spending cuts or tax increases (or a mixture of both) will be the means of balancing the state’s budget. In Mississippi, New Mexico, and West Virginia, special sessions have been called to address issues left unresolved during the regular sessions. What this means for state taxpayers is that numerous tax changes are likely to be enacted in the coming weeks. Please join professionals from KPMG LLP's Washington National Tax State and Local Tax Practice as they discuss recently enacted corporate income and sales and use tax legislation, as well as proposals pending in various states.
